Sanitation Enterprise progress in Solomons, Vanuatu and PNG


The two pilot communities in the Solomon Islands continue to make progress on the establishment of the community sanitation enterprises. Hendersen Community Sanitation Enterpise members have completed toilet construction training. Namoliki Sanitation Enterprise has completed the construction of their first Ventilated Improved Pit toilet in the community.


In Vanuatu the SAMAPETA and Tuburah community sanitation enterprises have completed construction of their Sanitation Parks, and have been working with Live & Learn to produce sanitation product promotion materials ready for the official launch on 26 August. The next post on our blog will share news from the CBSE launch in Vanuatu!


In Kimbe, PNG, two more communities have started the process of forming community-based sanitation enterprises. The communities of Saraklock and Dagi have formed leadership committees and are working with Live & Learn staff to complete a market analysis as the first step to developing their sanitation marketing business plans.
